You’ll process and track financial activity ranging from routine daily transactions to significant electronic payments while supporting accounting work that contributes to federal Medicaid and CHIP reporting. Whether you have early professional accounting experience, an accounts receivable background with solid accounting fundamentals, or accounting/finance education and are ready to launch your career, this role offers the opportunity to develop a broad accounting skill set.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts receivable and deposit activities, including reviewing incoming checks and electronic payments, identifying appropriate accounting treatment, creating deposits, and accurately recording financial activity.
Maintain detailed financial records using spreadsheets, databases, imaging systems, and accounting software while reconciling and tracking payment and deposit information.
Assist with entry-level accounting activities including monthly adjustments, financial record maintenance, journal-related support, and other accounting processes that contribute to accurate financial reporting.
Support the preparation and submission of quarterly federal Medicaid and CHIP reports while maintaining accurate supporting documentation and financial records.
Qualifications
One year of professional accounting, accounts receivable, auditing, or closely related financial experience; relevant accounting or finance education may substitute for experience.
Strong Excel skills with the ability to confidently work within spreadsheets, formulas, financial tracking tools, and structured accounting templates.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles with the aptitude to accurately process deposits, financial transactions, adjustments, and supporting documentation.- Strong attention to detail, organization, and numerical accuracy with the ability to independently manage deadlines and handle high-value financial transactions responsibly.
