 As an Accounting Manager, you’ll help lead a team of 7–8 accounting professionals and ensure the accurate, on-time delivery of a full suite of bookkeeping and accounting services for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit clients. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll be a behind-the-scenes driver of quality—coaching your team, removing roadblocks, and keeping deliverables consistently accurate and audit-ready. As an Accounting Manager, you’ll help lead a team of 7–8 accounting professionals and ensure the accurate, on-time delivery of a full suite of bookkeeping and accounting services for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit clients. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll be a behind-the-scenes driver of quality—coaching your team, removing roadblocks, and keeping deliverables consistently accurate and audit-ready. What you’ll do (Responsibilities)

  • Lead and develop the team  through staff meetings, training workshops, coaching, onboarding support, and coverage planning to keep deliverables on track.
  • Own monthly client deliverables  by reviewing financial reports/statements prepared by the team to ensure accuracy, consistency, and  GAAP  compliance.
  • Manage audit readiness and compliance  by partnering with Quality Assurance, overseeing audit timelines and draft reviews, and ensuring financials are “audit-ready.”
  • Drive process improvement and special projects  such as grant spend-down tracking, workpaper buildouts, discrepancy investigation, chart of accounts updates, and cash-to-accrual conversions.

What you’ll bring (Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field)  with  3–5 years  in full-cycle accounting and/or public accounting (audit or outsourced accounting).
  • Strong technical accounting skills  with excellent critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to produce client-ready work confidently.
  • Software proficiency  including  advanced Excel  skills and comfort working in accounting systems/financial reporting tools.
  • Nice-to-haves:  nonprofit accounting experience, people management experience, and/or an active  CPA  (preferred).
Salary: $95,000-$105,000/year
