What you’ll do (high level)
- Build and maintain control logic applications for M580 HSBY PACs using customer standards, DDT lists, DFB libraries, and sequences of operation.
- Participate in internal/customer design reviews (control narratives, cause & effect, program structure) and incorporate feedback.
- Support commissioning activities: testing, troubleshooting PLC code, tuning PID loops, and using QA/QC processes.
- Contribute beyond delivery work as needed—supporting demos, pre-sales visits, proposal content, and occasional marketing input.
Requirements
- Design PLC/PAC logic in EcoStruxure Control Expert (Unity Pro) (plus related tools such as Vijeo Designer / SCADA/HMI exposure).
- Strong understanding of industrial controls: structured text/ladder logic, data structures (DDTs), function blocks (DFBs), I/O, and electrical/control drawings.
- Comfortable with industrial networking/protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, BACnet) and multi-vendor device integration.
- Willing to travel ~25–30% for commissioning/support and able to meet customer site access requirements (e.g., background/drug & alcohol/OQ tasks/clearances as applicable).
Experience
- 5+ years designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and commissioning PLC / process automation solutions (Schneider Electric experience strongly preferred).
- Proven experience writing industrial control applications and supporting testing/commissioning (test scripts, troubleshooting, rev control/change management).
- Working knowledge of programming/scripting languages (VB/C#/C++/Python/Java) and comfort in Windows/Linux environments.
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience delivering automation/controls projects.
