Shifts Available (M–F):
- 1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM
Automation Technician Duties & Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automation equipment including:
- Robotics (Fanuc, Wittman, Sepro, Viper)
- End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT)
- Conveyors and part-handling systems
- Diagnose and resolve issues with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and related controls components .
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automated systems and automation cells.
- Assist with PLC programming, modifications, and debugging (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens).
- Support robot programming and optimization to improve cycle times and overall performance.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and blueprints .
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve uptime, efficiency, scrap reduction, and reliability .
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation.
- Respond urgently to downtime events to minimize production loss.
- Support mold changes and automation setup for new and existing programs.
- Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.
- Follow all plant safety procedures and OSHA requirements; ensure equipment meets guarding and safety standards.
- Support compliance with IATF 16949 and internal quality systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Automation Technician Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Technology, or related field (preferred).
- 1+ years of automation experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
- Plastic injection molding experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of:
- PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Robotics (Fanuc, Wittman, Sepro, Viper)
- Electrical systems (24V, 120V, 480V)
- Sensors, vision systems, and servo drives
- Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems .
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication across all levels of the organization.
