If you love building a finance function that leadership can truly trust—and you’re equally comfortable in board-level strategy conversations and rolling up your sleeves in the monthly close—this role is built for you.
Responsibilities
- Lead the finance function end-to-end: accounting operations, monthly/quarterly/annual close, financial statements, management reporting, and audit coordination.
- Drive financial strategy and visibility: budgets, forecasts, long-range planning, modeling, dashboards/KPIs, and clear insights on performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Own cash and financial controls: cash-flow forecasting, banking/treasury, receivables oversight, payment authorization controls, and a strong internal control environment.
- Support growth and transactions: evaluate investments/partnerships and lead finance workstreams for M&A (modeling, due diligence, deal support, and post-close integration).
Candidate Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive finance/accounting leadership with deep experience in financial statements, general ledger ownership, close, forecasting, and cash management.
- Strong command of GAAP, audit readiness, and building/strengthening internal controls in a growing organization.
- Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and hands-on —able to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable guidance for non-financial leaders.
- Healthcare/insurance finance expertise (health insurance, stop-loss/reinsurance, TPA, self-funded plans, or similar) and/or proven ability to learn complex, regulated financial environments quickly; CPA strongly preferred.
Preferred (nice to have)
- Insurance accounting/reporting exposure (claims, loss ratios, reserves, reconciliations across partners)
- Experience with valuation, transaction modeling, quality of earnings, diligence, or integrations
- Building scalable finance infrastructure (systems, reporting, processes) in an entrepreneurial environment
Salary $150,000-$200,000/year
