We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Migration Specialist to join our growing data team. In this hands-on role, you'll be instrumental in our transition from on-premise data warehouses to a cloud-based environment, specifically leveraging Microsoft Fabric and OneLake. You'll work closely with our analytics team, moving critical SQL data, and also serve as an internal educator, sharing your expertise to uplift the team's capabilities. This position reports directly to the Lead Data Engineer

 

What you'll do:

• Lead the migration of on-premise SQL data warehouses to our new cloud platform (Microsoft Fabric and OneLake).
• Collaborate daily with the analytics team to understand their data needs and ensure a smooth migration process.
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and education to team members on cloud migration best practices and data architecture.
• Focus on back-end data migration and optimization, ensuring data integrity and performance in the new cloud environment.
• Drive the project to successfully get our data to the cloud.

What you'll bring:

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data warehouse migration .
• Proven experience moving data from on-premise to cloud environments.
• Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake .
• A deep understanding of back-end data processes and architecture.
• Experience with SQL data warehousing.
• A "doer" mentality with a strong ability to execute and deliver.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and mentor team members.
