In this role, you’ll keep things moving by managing shipment schedules, monitoring trucking activity, and coordinating with mills, suppliers, and carriers when plans change. You’ll be the connection point between teams — making sure details are accurate, communication stays clear, and every load stays on track.
 


Commercial & Logistics Scheduling Administrator
Salary: $60,000–$70,000 | Schedule: Full-time, onsite
Direct Hire | Kansas City, MO

We’re looking for a highly organized and proactive team player to support our commercial and logistics operations. In this role, you’ll keep things moving by managing shipment schedules, monitoring trucking activity, and coordinating with mills, suppliers, and carriers when plans change. You’ll be the connection point between teams — making sure details are accurate, communication stays clear, and every load stays on track.

What You’ll Do
  • Schedule and manage truck shipments for incoming and outgoing metal loads.
  • Keep an updated list of trucks and appointments, and reschedule when a carrier misses a pickup or delivery.
  • Coordinate closely with facility, mill, and logistics teams to confirm schedules and resolve issues quickly.
  • Enter and update Purchase Orders (POs) and Sales Orders (SOs) with precision to support accurate billing and reporting.
  • Reconcile shipments by matching receivers and shippers to the correct orders and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support export bookings and ramp scheduling as needed.
  • Assist with freight rate tracking, shipment reports, and other administrative tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Help improve processes and support team training on internal systems such as RIMAS.

What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in scheduling, dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation support.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization — you enjoy keeping things on track and moving forward.
  • Clear, professional communication skills with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; RIMAS or other logistics system experience a plus.
  • A problem-solving mindset — you stay calm and find solutions when plans shift.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
