A fast-growing, privately held healthcare and real estate enterprise in the Kansas City area is seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial operations across 25 affiliated companies. With revenues approaching $50 million and continued expansion through acquisitions and capital investments, this role offers the chance to build structure, introduce automation, and play a key role in the company’s ongoing growth.

You’ll report directly to a seasoned CFO who values independence, precision, and initiative. This position is ideal for a high-performing accounting professional who’s ready to take full ownership of complex financials and potentially grow into a future CFO leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting functions for 25 entities, including financial reporting, month-end close, cash flow forecasting, payroll, AP/AR, and tax coordination.

• Modernize systems and processes, reducing manual Excel tracking through automation, improved reporting tools, and tighter controls.

• Partner closely with executive leadership to deliver timely, accurate financial insights that guide strategic decisions.

• Ensure GAAP compliance and data integrity, handling intercompany reconciliations, complex transfers, and audit preparation.

Qualifications

• Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of full-cycle accounting, ideally in healthcare, medical practice, or multi-entity environments.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification a strong plus.

• Personal Attributes: Highly organized, analytical, and self-driven — capable of managing large-scale financials independently with minimal oversight.
