A fast-growing, privately held healthcare and real estate enterprise in the Kansas City area is seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial operations across 25 affiliated companies. With revenues approaching $50 million and continued expansion through acquisitions and capital investments, this role offers the chance to build structure, introduce automation, and play a key role in the company’s ongoing growth.
You’ll report directly to a seasoned CFO who values independence, precision, and initiative. This position is ideal for a high-performing accounting professional who’s ready to take full ownership of complex financials and potentially grow into a future CFO leadership role.
Key Responsibilities

Lead all accounting functions for 25 entities, including financial reporting, month-end close, cash flow forecasting, payroll, AP/AR, and tax coordination.

Modernize systems and processes, reducing manual Excel tracking through automation, improved reporting tools, and tighter controls.

Partner closely with executive leadership to deliver timely, accurate financial insights that guide strategic decisions.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and data integrity, handling intercompany reconciliations, complex transfers, and audit preparation.
Qualifications

Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of full-cycle accounting, ideally in healthcare, medical practice, or multi-entity environments.

Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification a strong plus.
