As a Cost Accountant you’ll be more than just a numbers person — you’ll be a key contributor to the financial strength of the operation. From analyzing work orders and inventory costs to supporting reporting, project tracking, and cost integrity, this role offers the chance to make a visible impact within a growing manufacturing organization.

Duties

  • Manage daily work order processing and analysis, working closely with the shop floor to identify issues, reduce errors, and improve overall accuracy.
  • Support critical cost accounting functions including cost of sales, inventory costing, perpetual inventory value, variance analysis, and maintaining inventory ledger and general ledger integrity.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, review profit and loss activity, analyze purchase price variance reports, and track project costs and reporting.
  • Perform annual standard cost rolls, calculate and present monthly product cost information, and provide cost quotes to leadership and field teams.
  • Participate in project reviews, support obsolete inventory analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement across accounting and operational processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing cost accounting experience with strong knowledge of inventory, cost of sales, variance analysis, and standard costing.
  • Working knowledge of integrated accounting systems and advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work a Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST schedule, with some travel and occasional off-shift inventory event support as needed.
