Deductions Analyst 

Overview

If you’re the kind of person who loves turning messy remittance details into clean, auditable outcomes, this Deductions Analyst role will feel like a perfect fit. We’re looking for a Deductions Analyst to join a high-volume short pay/deductions team supporting major retailers—where your day-to-day work directly protects revenue, strengthens internal controls, and keeps processes compliant and well-documented. As a Deductions Analyst, you’ll dig into the details, validate legitimacy, code accurately, and resolve deductions with the level of due diligence that stands up to audits and supports strong financial discipline.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role (e.g., Deductions Analyst, Credit & Collections Analyst with deductions exposure, or AR Analyst)
• Proven ability to research and resolve customer deductions/short pays, particularly in high-volume environments
• Strong investigative skills—able to work through remittance detail, invoices, pricing/promo support, and shipping documentation
• Accuracy and discipline in coding, documentation, and maintaining audit-ready backup
• Ability to track open items (status, aging, dollars at risk, next action) and escalate appropriately to avoid unnecessary write-offs
• Comfort operating in environments with internal controls, SOPs, and audit support expectations
• System experience with SAP (frequent daily use)
• Experience with TPM (Trade Promotion Management) tools supporting promo/trade activity
• Experience with HighRadius (cloud-based deductions platform)

Nice to Have Skills

• Familiarity with major retailer deduction processes
• Experience separating and managing trade vs. non-trade deduction workflows
• Background in CPG, manufacturing, or distribution environments

Preferred Education and Experience

• 2+ years of relevant deductions/AR/credit experience in a structured, process-driven setting
• Experience supporting trade and non-trade deductions tied to retailer activity (promotions/allowances, shortages, freight discrepancies, damages, etc.)

Other Requirements

• Ability to maintain clear notes, organized documentation, and consistent backup to support audit trails and internal review
• Strong follow-through and cross-functional coordination skills to help identify root causes (pricing/promo setup, shipment discrepancies, freight issues, etc.)
