Fabricator / Laser Operator

 We are seeking a  Fabricator / Laser Operator  to set up and run CNC laser cutting equipment and support downstream fabrication (deburr, fit-up, basic weld prep, forming, and assembly as needed). This role requires strong attention to detail, safe material handling practices, and the ability to read prints and verify parts meet spec.


Position: Fabricator (Press Brake Emphasis)
Schedule: 4x10-hour days
Starting Pay:$25–$30 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary:

The Fabricator will build stainless steel food processing machinery using various fabricating techniques. This role requires knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance. The Fabricator will read and interpret technical plans, blueprints, and models; manage project timelines; perform routine equipment maintenance; and communicate effectively to ensure projects are completed accurately and efficiently.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and work orders.

  • Apply fabrication mathematics to daily tasks.

  • Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures, calipers, machinist squares, and protractors.

  • Identify, retrieve, and install punches and dies according to bend radius and material thickness.

  • Download program files or program press brakes at the controller.

  • Program press brakes using tonnage mode, angle mode, and absolute position settings.

  • Operate press brakes from a variety of manufacturers safely and correctly.

  • Operate and maintain CNC laser cutting machines and other production equipment.

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve fabricating and operating challenges.

  • Communicate potential problems to the lead or supervisor promptly.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety and quality regulations.

  • Meet or exceed quality and productivity standards.

  • Continuously seek to improve work processes and personal performance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead or department manager.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of metal fabrication experience; CNC experience required.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement of processes and self-development.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as required.
