Facilities Maintenance Technician

  We are seeking  a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day building, grounds, and equipment upkeep in a fast-paced facility environment. This role works closely with site leadership and operations to complete routine repairs, preventative maintenance, safety checks, and continuous improvement projects to keep the facility clean, safe, audit-ready, and running efficiently.


Facilities Maintenance Technician Schedule:  Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay:  $27–$30/hour

Facilities Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility & Grounds Maintenance
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs for interior/exterior building needs.
    • Maintain outside grounds and ensure the facility is presentable for customer visits.
    • Inspect building areas and address unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM) & Equipment Upkeep
    • Perform scheduled PMs and document completion.
    • Maintain equipment using total life-cycle management practices to reduce downtime.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs
    • Diagnose equipment/vehicle/fleet failures and complete repairs efficiently.
    • Respond to maintenance requests and complete work orders accurately (goal: within 24 hours when feasible).
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including  Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) .
    • Help ensure equipment and facility conditions meet health and safety standards.
    • Support strong results in third-party food safety and compliance audits (where applicable).
    • Coordinate as needed with local authorities regarding permits, zoning, and compliance.
  • 5S / Sanitation / Organization
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in work areas and maintenance spaces.
    • Keep floors/work areas clear of clutter; maintain tools and shop areas in clean, organized condition.
    • Complete sanitation and facility checklists as required.
  • Inventory & Parts Control
    • Track and maintain accurate inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
    • Ensure materials are stored properly and available to support quick repairs.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify waste and recommend improvements to safety, quality, productivity, energy use, and service.
    • Assist with facility improvement projects and manage assigned projects effectively.
  • Teamwork, Training & Professionalism
    • Promote a positive, respectful, teamwork-driven culture.
    • Support training and cross-training efforts to maintain compliance and operational flexibility.
    • Maintain professional communication and strong service with internal teams and external partners/customers/vendors.
  • Operational Reporting / Metrics Support
    • Support tracking and reporting of key operational metrics (safety, quality, inventory accuracy, productivity, energy, customer service).
    • Participate in routine performance discussions as needed.

Facilities Maintenance Technician Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience  (facility, industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of basic building systems and repairs (HVAC, plumbing, pumps, electrical).
  • Ability to follow SOPs and work safely in an active production/warehouse environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
Preferred:
  • Experience in food processing or facilities that require high sanitation/audit readiness.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in a production/warehouse setting with potential exposure to noise, dust, fumes, heat, and other industrial elements.
  • Requires frequent walking/standing on concrete floors and responding to interruptions.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and other manual activities as required.
