Food Safety Coordinator / Document Control

 We’re hiring a  Food Safety Coordinator / Document Control  to help ensure our warehouse quality systems are consistently followed and audit-ready. This role supports  internal and external auditsdocument controltraining, and day-to-day  food safety and quality compliance  across cold storage operations (freezer/cooler/ambient).


Food Safety Coordinator / Document Control Pay:  $22–$25/hour
Schedule:  Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect  incoming shipments  to verify they meet quality and food safety standards.
  • Perform routine  inventory and warehouse quality inspections  to ensure product integrity is maintained.
  • Investigate, document, and help resolve  quality or food safety issues, escalating trends to leadership as needed.
  • Support and help lead the  internal audit program , including auditing processes to confirm procedures are being followed.
  • Serve as a point of contact (with management) for  customer, regulatory, and external audits .
  • Manage  document control : coordinate updates, revisions, and communication of procedural changes.
  • Train and coach warehouse team members on  food safety, allergen awareness, and quality procedures .
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, calibrations, corrective actions, and training.
  • Complete  weekly/monthly temperature probe inspections  and perform required  calibrations .
  • Recommend and support  process improvements  to increase efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
  • Stay current on food safety best practices, audit expectations, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required  (college coursework or degree preferred).
  • Prior experience in  food safety training, warehouse quality, or compliance .
  • Working knowledge of food safety principles and documentation practices (ex: SOPs, inspections, corrective actions).
  • Strong computer skills, including  Microsoft Office (Excel required) .
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train, document, and follow up professionally.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and stay organized in a fast-paced operation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with  FDA/USDA-related requirements , audit readiness, and warehouse food safety programs.
  • HACCP and/or PCQI certification  (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience working with a  Warehouse Management System (WMS) .

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a  cold storage warehouse and office environment  (freezer, cooler, and ambient areas).
  • Exposure to noise, dust, cold temperatures, and typical warehouse safety hazards.
  • Frequent interruptions and shifting priorities are common.
  • Occasional lifting may be required.
