Key Responsibilities
- Be the front-line HR contact for employees and leaders—answer questions, provide guidance, and maintain a visible, approachable presence.
- Support hiring and onboarding activities (coordination, pre-employment steps, orientation support) to ensure a smooth start for new hires.
- Assist with employee relations and policy enforcement (attendance, coaching support, conflict resolution, documentation, and investigations as needed).
- Handle HR administration and compliance support (HRIS/data entry, file maintenance, reporting, training/safety communications, and HR initiatives).
- Warm, approachable, and professional —people feel comfortable coming to you.
- Fortitude and backbone —able to hold boundaries, follow policy, and deliver tough messages respectfully.
- Calm and steady in a fast-moving environment; handles sensitive situations with discretion.
- Strong communication skills (you can explain the “why,” not just the rule).
- Organized and reliable; follows through and closes loops.
- 2+ years of HR Generalist or HR support experience (manufacturing/automotive environment is strongly preferred).
- Working knowledge of common HR processes: onboarding, attendance practices, employee relations support, documentation, and HR admin.
- Comfort working around a production schedule and being present/visible with employees.
