(Industrial Painter) – 2nd Shift (Factory)
Pay = $25.85/hour
Schedule
- 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM (includes a dinner period)
- Training: Must be able to train on day shift for a short period after hire before transferring to 2nd shift
Industrial Painter Job duties:
- Observe all safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly
- Work from verbal instructions, work orders, and established practices
- Clean material using solvent cleaner, etching solution, or paint-stripping caustic
- Move and position material using hoists and carts/wagons
- Mask off areas not to be painted or to be painted a different color
- Prepare paint; thin to correct consistency and temperature; strain before use
- Clean, repair, and adjust spray guns and paint pots
- Spray paint parts/products; touch up with brush or spray as needed
- Occasionally use stencils
- Perform some maintenance painting from a ladder or scaffold
- Report abnormal equipment conditions to the supervisor
- Prepare parts/products for foaming by masking and covering areas to be foamed
- Other duties as assigned
- Maintain a neat and clean work area
Industrial Painter Skills/requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous commercial/industrial painting experience (preferred)
- Ability to read work orders
- Ability to read and understand units of measurement
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks
- Experience preferred operating: forklift, electric hoist, spray equipment, mixing equipment, and small tools
Physical requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk during the shift
- Use hands/fingers to handle objects, tools, and controls
- Frequent stooping, bending, pushing/pulling, and reaching
- Ability to occasionally lift/carry/drag up to 100 lbs if necessary
- Vision sufficient to distinguish the nature of objects
- Ability to ascend/descend two flights of stairs
- Ability to wear required PPE, including eye/hearing protection and steel-toe shoes
