Responsibilities

Analyze and oversee federal income filings related to foreign-connected entities, ensuring appropriate disclosures and elections are handled.

Evaluate cross-border compliance figures, including calculations related to global profit allocations and foreign-derived income incentives.

Review tax provisions for overseas subsidiaries, aiming for optimal global tax effectiveness while adhering to international standards and regulations.

Support the examination of intercompany pricing records and provide insights on internal global transactions.

Prepare reports for multinational disclosure requirements, including country-specific breakdowns and recent international tax frameworks.

Supervise tax submissions for Canadian entities with no domestic presence, including employment and indirect tax matters.

Collaborate across departments on major financial decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, and liquidity strategy.

Spearhead enhancements to internal processes and tax workflows.

Guide and support junior team members through training and development.

Take part in specialized tax initiatives, policy investigations, audits, and regulatory tasks.

Partner with internal tax teams and broader business units to maintain precision and timeliness in fiscal reporting and compliance activities.

Undergraduate degree in finance, tax, or a related discipline; post-graduate education a plus.

Certification such as CPA or legal credentials in tax law preferred.

At least five years of hands-on experience in corporate tax within large-scale firms or public accounting environments.

Proficient in international tax accounting rules and global tax planning (e.g., standards comparable to ASC 740 or IAS 12).
