Inventory Specialist

  We are seeking  an Inventory Control Specialist to support warehouse and distribution operations by maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring inventory processes are completed correctly and on time. This role follows established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions and plays a key part in receiving, shipping accuracy, cycle counts, and returns.


Inventory Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload trucks using material handling equipment
  • Verify inbound inventory and non-inventory items against packing lists
  • Research and correct inventory variances and inaccurate inventory transactions
  • Review daily inventory transactions to ensure accuracy
  • Perform and/or oversee daily cycle counting; maintain cycle count documentation
  • Verify accuracy of LTL (less-than-truckload) customer orders
  • Coordinate timely pickup and delivery of LTL customer orders
  • Properly build/secure LTL orders to help prevent damage during transit
  • Maintain shipping, inventory, cycle count, and return records in chronological order
  • Process and/or manage customer returns and maintain related documentation
  • Report aged inventory monthly to Procurement and assist with removal/disposition as directed
  • Stock product in assigned locations and ensure  FIFO  (first-in, first-out) is followed
  • Replenish primary pick locations from overflow as needed, following FIFO
  • Maintain and update an accurate inventory locator daily
  • Assist with picker/packer training
  • Perform other duties as assigned by warehouse leadership

Inventory Specialist Requirements:

  • High school diploma (required)
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Shipping/receiving experience (required)
  • Forklift certified and experienced (required)
  • Ability to learn and follow SOPs related to receiving and warehouse operations
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and decision-making skills
  • Able to work well with others and communicate effectively
  • Comfortable providing direction and supporting employee development
  • Willingness to learn basic computer skills as needed
  • Must complete and comply with  GMP  (Good Manufacturing Practices) training
