Laser Operator Job:
Schedule - M-F - 5:30am-2pm or 1:30pm-10pm
Pay = $23-$32/hour depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain CNC laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal parts based on work orders and technical drawings.
- Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and adjust settings to ensure optimal performance and quality output.
- Inspect materials, verify dimensions, and check for defects in accordance with quality control standards.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and organization of metal sheets and parts.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report any equipment malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely production.
- Maintain accurate records of job setups, machine adjustments, and production output.
- Adhere to company policies, including safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating laser cutting machines, preferably in metal fabrication or manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with safety practices and procedures in an industrial setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a standing position for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with specific laser cutting machines (e.g., Trumpf, Bystronic, or similar models).
- Knowledge of different metal types (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.) and their properties.
- Forklift operation certification.
