Logistics Coordinator

Position Overview
This position supports management as well as Commercial and Logistics teams by entering supplier and customer contracts, load receipts, and shipping documentation into internal systems. The role coordinates communication and scheduling of loads and helps improve utilization of company systems and processes. Primary responsibilities include timely and accurate data entry for supplier/customer information and supporting documents, as well as assisting with payment tracking, supplier payments support, and the inventory impacts tied to these activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Learn and use the company’s product management system for supplier and customer transactions
- Enter purchase orders and sales orders (contracts) accurately and promptly
- Support facilities and logistics teams by scheduling and coordinating shipments of various commodity types/forms
- Assist with receiving and shipping documentation by matching receivers to purchase orders and shippers to sales orders
- Track receiving weights and help ensure accurate invoicing and proper payment application once funds are received
- Perform administrative accounting support as needed (AP/AR support, reconciliations, expense analysis, reporting)
- Help source/monitor freight rates, accruals, and shipment tracking using internal systems and tools
- Support structured communication workflows for orders and commercial interactions
- Assist with training and improving team adoption of company systems and procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in customer support, logistics/transportation, shipping/receiving, or related work
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to collaborate across teams and with external partners
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Highly organized, professional, and able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment
- Industry experience in recycling/scrap/commodities is a plus
