Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision
-
Supervise and support Material Coordinators in executing daily and scheduled cycle count activities.

Conduct employee performance evaluations and administer corrective actions in accordance with company policies.

Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to support individual and team growth.

Ensure alignment with departmental objectives and operational priorities.
Cycle Count & Inventory Control
-
Develop, maintain, and execute accurate cycle count schedules in compliance with internal requirements.
-
Ensure timely completion of recounts and investigate variances.
-
Integrate new or revised part numbers and engineering levels into cycle count schedules.
-
Assign and monitor cycle counts for high-risk or customer-flagged (“hot”) parts.
Inventory Accuracy & Reconciliation
-
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies identified through receiving, cycle counts, and system reports.
-
Validate inventory records following engineering changes affecting part numbers, revisions, or quantities.

Ensure inventory data integrity across systems and physical locations.
Launch, Change Management & Transitions
-
Support inventory transitions including run-out of obsolete materials and validation of incoming inventory.
-
Assist with balance-out, model year changeovers, and new program launches.
-
Coordinate inventory updates to support production and customer requirements during transitions.
Continuous Improvement & Special Projects
-
Execute special projects and assignments as directed by the Materials Manager, including inventory optimization, layout improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Participate in facility-wide continuous improvement efforts and cross-functional initiatives.
Compliance, Safety & Documentation
-
Ensure compliance with applicable quality management system standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and internal procedures.

Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all inventory and cycle count activities.

Support emergency evacuation procedures and promote a safe working environment.
Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration
-
Communicate with customers regarding inventory issues, including obsolescence and discrepancy resolution.

Collaborate with internal departments to determine appropriate material storage, racking, and flow to support production efficiency.
-
Serve as a point of contact for inventory-related concerns across functional teams.
Other Duties

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
-
Three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing or logistics environment; automotive supplier experience preferred.

Experience in traffic, logistics, or materials management operations.
-
Proficiency with ERP and inventory management systems; experience with Trans4M or similar systems preferred.
-
Familiarity with OEM JIT/ISP systems, particularly GM systems, is a plus.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
High attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-through capabilities.
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Health, Safety, Physical & Travel Requirements

Ability to perform standard office and plant-based activities, including sitting, standing, and walking throughout the facility.

Ability to perform computer-based work for extended periods.
-
Occasional travel up to 5% may be required.
-
Valid driver’s license required.
