Position Summary
Materials Manager Key Responsibilities:- Lead, coach, and develop a cross-functional materials team, including Assistant Materials Managers, Logistics Specialists, Coordinators, and Planners.
- Establish and maintain standardized systems and processes to ensure accurate reporting, strong data integrity, and on-time execution.
- Partner with manufacturing and customers to align production schedules, transportation plans, and inventory levels to meet demand.
- Ensure receiving processes and system transactions are accurate and timely to protect inventory integrity and system reliability.
- Drive team performance through ongoing coaching, development, and performance evaluation to meet current and future business needs.
- Manage supplier relationships with a focus on performance, accountability, and alignment to operational objectives.
- Oversee procurement and material availability for production and service components, ensuring timely replenishment and issue resolution.
- Monitor inventory health, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy to consistently meet company targets.
- Evaluate internal equipment and service capabilities to ensure alignment with production volumes and operational demands.
- Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives across materials, logistics, and packaging functions.
- Establish, track, and report key operating indicators (KOIs), driving accountability and results.
- Oversee packaging and logistics strategies, including premium freight reduction, routing optimization, and customer compliance (CLIPS).
- Maintain and optimize PFEP (Plan for Every Part), ensuring appropriate Min/Max levels across all locations.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with company standards and operational requirements.
- Promote a safe work environment by reinforcing safety policies, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
- Support additional business needs and initiatives as assigned by leadership.
