Mechanical Assembly Technician (Full-Time) — Riverside, MO
$28-$32/hour+/hour depending on experience.
Monday-Thursday 6AM to 4:30PM- Occasional Friday OT
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble machines and components using hand tools, power tools, and appropriate shop equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, bills of material (BOMs), and assembly instructions.
- Build accurately from work orders/routers and BOMs.
- Position and align parts manually or using lifting devices (hoists, forklifts, etc.).
- Perform hydraulic assembly and support basic mechanical system integration.
- Assist with wiring tasks as needed (based on production requirements).
- Complete in-process and final quality inspections, troubleshoot assembly issues, and correct discrepancies.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in compliance with safety, PPE, and 5S/Lean standards.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying better, safer, or more efficient assembly methods.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on assembly experience using schematics/blueprints to complete assemblies.
- 5–7+ years of assembly experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment (mechanical, electrical, or related).
- 5+ years of hydraulic assembly experience.
- Proven experience building from work order routers and BOMs.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and machinery.
- Strong communication skills, teamwork, and ability to clearly explain issues and solutions.
- Quick learner with a continuous-improvement mindset; adaptable to change.
- Strong problem-solving ability and leadership traits.
- Ability to work overtime, including some weekends when production demands require it.
Additional Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience using overhead cranes, aerial lifts, ladders, or powered industrial equipment (as applicable).
- Basic computer skills for documentation and shop interfaces.
