 We are seeking a full-time  MIG Welder / Fitter  to join a growing shop team. This role is ideal for a motivated, dependable professional with strong welding and fabrication experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work. The position supports all phases of the build process, from material preparation through final assembly and shipment readiness.


MIG Welder Position Summary

The MIG Welder / Fitter is responsible for producing weldments that meet provided drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This person must be able to inspect completed work, identify defects, and make corrections as needed. In addition to fitting and welding, this role may assist with other fabrication and shop duties including unloading materials, cutting and measuring parts, drilling holes, and preparing completed assemblies for shipment.

A strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and maintaining a clean work area is essential.

MIG Welder Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform MIG welding to specification using established welding procedures
  • Fit, clamp, and tack weld components accurately before final welding
  • Inspect completed work for weld quality and dimensional accuracy
  • Repair weld defects and make corrections as needed
  • Read and work from blueprints, drawings, and fabrication specifications
  • Fabricate jigs and fixtures when required
  • Measure, cut, drill, and prepare materials for assembly
  • Assist with unloading, organizing, and storing materials
  • Prepare finished assemblies for shipment
  • Maintain tools and equipment used in daily work, including welders, grinders, torches, and hand tools
  • Report drawing, equipment, or safety concerns to the shop supervisor promptly
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe between projects
  • Follow all safety procedures and use proper protective equipment
MIG Welder Qualifications:
  • 3–4 years of MIG welding experience , or a combination of related experience and technical training in welding/fabrication
  • Ability to accurately measure, lay out, and fabricate parts
  • Ability to read blueprints and carry projects from print to final completion with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with  AWS A2.4 welding and non-destructive testing symbols
  • Ability to safely operate shop equipment such as:
    • Grinders
    • Band saws
    • Drills and drill presses
    • Torches
    • Plasma cutters
Schedule
  • Monday -Thursday:  6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Occasional Friday overtime  as needed
Pay
  • $21.00–$24.00/hour+ , based on experience and skill level
