Press Brake Operator Job Duties:
- Set up and operate press brake machines following established procedures and work instructions
- Adjust machine settings to meet blueprint/work order specifications accurately and on time
- Download program files and/or perform basic programming at the machine controller
- Form parts, inspect for accuracy, apply correct labels, and sort finished parts
- Select, retrieve, and install the correct punches and dies based on bend radius and material thickness
- Use hand tools, computers, and measuring equipment (tape measure, calipers, machinist square, protractor, etc.)
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving machine or fabrication issues as needed
Press Brake Operator Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
- Solid fabrication math skills and understanding of bend requirements
- Familiarity with 5S and maintaining an organized workspace
- Ability to measure and verify dimensions using a variety of measuring devices
- Ability to program steps using tonnage mode, angle mode, and absolute position as required
- Experience safely operating press brakes (various manufacturers)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
Education & Experience Required:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Amada fiber laser experience and Dr. ABE Blank experience are a plus
Physical requirements
- Regular standing/walking, bending/stooping, reaching, and hands-on tool/equipment use
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs , occasional lifting up to 75 lbs
