Job Description
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the following outcomes:

Supervise, coordinate, and support all employees assigned to the department.

Achieve or exceed established productivity, quality, and efficiency targets through effective use of available resources.

Ensure all department personnel comply with safety policies and procedures and promptly report unsafe conditions.

Lead the department in a manner that promotes teamwork, high morale, accountability, productivity, and quality performance.
-
Address employee performance issues and workplace conflicts in a fair and consistent manner, in accordance with the Employee Handbook, in collaboration with Human Resources.

Enforce the use of standard work, visual management tools, and production team boards.
-
Ensure employee training requirements are completed, documented, and properly tracked.
-
Complete employee performance evaluations and assessments as required.
-
Support and assist with product or process launch activities as needed.

Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance activities with Maintenance and Tooling departments.
-
Maintain regular communication with team leads and department personnel, providing updates that impact safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with supporting departments to resolve operational, quality, or production-related issues.
-
Accurately and timely complete all required documentation, including corrective actions, scrap reports, production reports, downtime tracking, and employee evaluations.

Coordinate and oversee production part rework, repair, or teardown activities as required.

Document departmental activities in accordance with established procedures.

Follow all emergency evacuation and safety guidelines to ensure employee safety.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Limits of Authority
The Production Supervisor is authorized to:
-
Notify the Operations Manager of conditions that may pose significant risk to product quality, customer satisfaction, employee safety, facilities, or program performance.

Initiate actions to prevent nonconformances related to product, process, or system performance.
-
Identify, document, and report issues related to product quality, processes, or systems.
-
Recommend, implement, and verify corrective actions through appropriate channels.
-
Stop further processing and delivery of nonconforming product until deficiencies are corrected.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
-
Strong written, mathematical, and analytical skills.
-
Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
-
Solid technical understanding of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
-
Demonstrated organizational, leadership, and effective communication skills.
