- Establish and execute quality engineering practices during product development to meet quality objectives.
- Create, document, communicate, and implement quality deliverables aligned with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable standards (AIAG, IATF, etc.).
- Maintain and report APQP status, elevating risks that could impact quality, delivery, or cost.
- Develop, maintain, and update PPAP/APQP documentation to meet customer and AIAG expectations.
- Train and support cross-shift team members on PPAP/APQP documentation and updates.
- Serve as a primary customer contact for quality topics, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
- Partner with suppliers to address quality concerns, monitor performance, and validate corrective actions.
- Review, disposition, and document supplier sample submissions for new or changed materials.
- Maintain and update Core Tools documentation, including Control Plans, PFMEAs, MSA, and Process Flow Diagrams , especially following corrective actions or process changes.
- Coordinate and prepare customer submission packages with strong attention to accuracy, completeness, and on-time delivery.
- Participate in Change Control meetings and provide updates on assigned quality systems.
- Document quality engineering activities in accordance with internal procedures and required standards.
- Lead structured problem-solving efforts (8D, DMAIC, etc.) for internal, customer, and supplier concerns.
- Ensure compliance to the Business Operating System and required documentation throughout quality activities.
- Support and track supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Direct daily activities of the Quality Coordinator (as assigned).
- Contribute to plant-wide goals related to quality, productivity, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Follow all safety policies and site procedures, including emergency response requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field (ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment (e.g., Quality Inspector, Quality Supervisor, or similar).
- 1+ year supporting both customer and supplier quality activities.
- 1+ year supporting APQP for new product launches in the automotive industry.
- Strong root cause analysis capability with proven corrective action completion.
- Working knowledge of Automotive Core Tools: PPAP, SPC, FMEA, MSA, APQP, Control Plans .
- Competency in metrology, blueprint/drawing interpretation, statistical analysis, and color/appearance measurement.
- Experience performing color and/or appearance testing and approvals for product inspections.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding products, processes, and proprietary information.
