Saw Operator:
We are seeking a dependable Saw Operator
to support steel fabrication and production activities. This position is responsible for accurately identifying material, performing precision saw cuts, and supporting shop workflow through safe material handling and basic stick welding. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-minded, and comfortable working from tablet-based blueprints.
- Starting pay: $22.00/hour
Work Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Friday: Overtime as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and verify parts and material by thickness and work order requirements
- Operate metal saws to cut steel accurately to specification
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings on tablets
- Measure, mark, and confirm cut lengths using a tape measure; must be able to measure in 1/16-inch increments
- Perform stick welding as required to support production needs
- Safely move, load, and position steel using an overhead crane
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
Required Qualifications
- Prior shop experience as a saw operator or related metal fabrication role
- Demonstrated experience with metal saw cutting
- Working knowledge of stick welding – preferred
- Experience operating an overhead crane
- Ability to read basic prints and follow instructions from digital/tablet-based drawings
- Strong attention to detail and measurement accuracy
