Requirements: 

  • Associate degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • CCNA or CCNP certification and Cisco, Ciena, and Nokiais required ; vendor certifications (Adtran, Alcatel-Lucent, , Juniper, Nexus, Arista, Palo Alto) are preferred.

  • 8+ years of relevant job experience in engineering or equivalent technical roles.

  • Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, F5 load balancing, and network monitoring tools such as Wireshark or SolarWinds.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard office applications.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to prioritize and perform in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.


Duties:

  • Manage network events and service disruptions by following established protocols, coordinating rapid response efforts, and ensuring timely resolution of complex issues.
  • Use advanced monitoring tools to detect network alarms, perform remote diagnostics, and generate accurate trouble tickets for resolution and escalation.

  • Work closely with field operations and external carriers to restore services during outages, including major fiber incidents, and oversee repair efforts to completion.

  • Provide expert guidance to junior NOC engineers, handle escalated support cases, and contribute to internal training initiatives and knowledge sharing.

  • Develop and maintain Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, support break-fix changes, and participate in change control processes to maintain network stability.

    Salary: $73,000 - $80,000
