Grandview, MO Pay: $18–$20/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (4x10s) with 30-minute unpaid lunch ; occasional Friday overtime
Shipping Assistant Job Responsibilities:
- Pick, verify, and process customer orders using established procedures
- Package products to internal and customer specifications
- Build/assemble crates, skids, and protective packaging for large or fragile items
- Label and stage shipments with accurate paperwork (packing slips, shipping labels, etc.)
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers safely
- Perform quality checks prior to packaging and shipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Use hand and power tools (drills, nail guns, wrenches, etc.) for assembly/packaging
- Enter order/shipping data and complete tasks in an ERP system (training provided)
- Operate warehouse tools/equipment such as pallet jacks and tape machines
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory support, and general shop duties
- Complete other duties as assigned
Shipping Assistant Physical Requirements:
- Regularly lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 100 lbs (with or without assistance)
- Stand and perform physical tasks for 10-hour shifts
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and climbing
- Comfortable with repetitive manual labor in a shop/warehouse setting
- Occasional outdoor work in varying weather (loading/unloading, moving materials)
- PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, etc.)
Shipping Assistant Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Shipping/warehouse/general labor experience preferred
- Comfortable using basic hand and power tools (including drills)
- Basic computer skills; ability to learn and use an ERP system
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to train)
