As a Special Education Teacher (SPED), you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journeys of K–12 students with diverse needs, fostering their growth, independence, and success. Key Skills Needed:
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Strong understanding of special education laws, practices, and instructional strategies
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with general education teachers, families, and support teams
- Experience delivering both small group and one-on-one support
- Competence in monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate documentation
- Valid AZ state teaching certification (preferred)
Nice to Have Skills:
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
- Prior experience with diverse student populations in school settings
- Strong behavioral management skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (preferred)
- At least 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)
- Certification in Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education (preferred)
Other Requirements:
- Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
- Current CPR certification and TB screening
- Health certificate as per state or contract standards
Salary Range: $45 - $55 per hour
