Pay = $18–$19/hour
Schedule : Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Occasional overtime on Fridays
Welder Helper Responsibilities:
- Assist welders with material preparation, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning
- Help assemble metal parts and structures
- Organize and maintain tools, materials, and equipment
- Load, unload, and store raw materials such as metal sheets, rods, and components
- Prepare surfaces for welding by removing rust, dirt, and other debris
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper disposal of waste materials
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
- Operate basic shop tools such as grinders, saws, and drills
- Measure and mark materials according to specifications
- Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment as needed
- Support the lead welder or shop supervisor with additional tasks as assigned
Welder Helper Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and metalworking techniques preferred, but not required
- Strong willingness to learn welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
Welder Helper Preferred Experience:
- 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is preferred
- Knowledge of MIG welding is helpful
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
- Ability to work in shop conditions that may include heat, noise, and dust
